Outside the facade of the beautiful North Tahoe Lodge Truckee, CA. Brooke and Joel

Earlier this spring I had the pleasure of photographing Brooke and Joel’s engagement session in Mountain House, CA. Their wedding day up in Truckee, CA at the North Tahoe Lodge finally took place this last week with some gorgeous mountain weather.  The threat of thunderstorms had Brooke a little nervous about the day, but only a few sprinkles fell and the dramatic cloud cover was a sight to see during the ceremony. The North Tahoe Lodge is a really cool vertical venue with great mountain views across the historic town of Truckee.  Being a former Tahoe Donner resident, I brought them over to the trailhead on Glacier Way (less than a 1/4 mile from the venue)  where they had a great first look among the pine trees.  They both looked absolutely stunning and the gorgeous flowers was supplied by one of their guests.  They owed Joel a favor and totally delivered a gorgeous floral theme.     The accents of green, went well with the grey and blue color scheme they had for their day.  If you happen to be planning a Tahoe wedding, you cannot go wrong with a grey and green color scheme, it just really fits the environment very well.  After their ceremony, a delicious BBQ dinner was served up by the same couple who acted as florist.  They don’t even have a catering or floral business, but I think they should consider it!  After dinner, I took them down to another area in the Tahoe Donner Association that offers up some great natural scenery, the Tahoe Donner Equestrian Center.  The light was falling fast and we worked real quick to come away with some great photos around that area and even had time to add some humor into one of their photos.  Please check out the gallery and have a look.  Congrats Brooke and Joel!
