Late Winter Engagement Session Photos Tahoe Donner Truckee CA. Well spring is officially here, but winter is still sticking around in Tahoe and shows no signs of letting up just yet. Full time Truckee residents Jessi and Mark love playing in the outdoors every chance they get. When they aren’t busy with their careers (Jessi is a physical therapist and Mark is a pilot) they enjoy hiking, skiing, climbing and hanging out with their two loyal pups Baxter and Oliver. We got a little adventurous hiking in deep snow with our touring gear to get to an ideal photographic location. We found a nice north facing zone with panoramic vistas around Tahoe Donner and across to Northstar at Tahoe. Hiking was actually the easiest part of our session, the hardest was getting the dogs to cooperate! Baxter is a rambunctious rescue dog who is still trying to figure out what his shadow is and Oliver is a wise old little dachsund who definitely moves to the beat of his own drum. With some Pavlovian conditioning via dog treats and trying to get Baxter’s attention with my best death metal singing voice, we got a few good snaps and let the puppies be. Then Jessi and Mark got to have their time in the sun and let out some pre-marital aggression with a good snowball fight! The snow was perfect for making snowballs and they pelted each other real well! After their display of tough love, things calmed a little and we dove right into more affectionate captures. Scroll to see select highlights from our session and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding at Donner Lake this summer!
