Shana and Chris are about to embark the journey of parenthood. When your close childhood buddy asks you to document this special time in his adult life, you cannot refuse. Both design professionals in the heart of San Francisco, Shana and Chris exhibit fine artistic tastes which compelled me to record this event for them in the traditional analog medium. For their look and style, I found that film capture would be the best route for achieving a genuine look they would appreciate. We did a spontaneous tour around their San Francisco apartment in the heart of the Design District followed by a quick stroll around the Embarcadero. After that, we proceeded to the Fort Mason area and finished up in good fashion with a beer back at their apartment (Beers just for Chris and I of course). During our entire shoot we chatted about the whole expecting process and got excited for their little girls arrival. It sure is funny, all during our childhood and adolescence, most our conversations revolved around getting radical on snowboards, skateboards, and surfboards (the surfboard conversation is still a mainstay). Now we find ourselves talking about diapers, car seat safety, child discipline, and what to do when you child for the first time says “no” to you. What an adventure life is and I’m happy that Shana and Chris are going to start a new adventure as a family. Congratulations and I can’t wait to meet the new addition.
