Fly fishing on the Truckee river and fishing in general is a great way to pass the time in northern Nevada. Betsy and Dan wanted an engagement session that reflected the love for the outdoors that they hold dear. Joined by their four legged companion “Wader” a two year old Weimaraner, we set out on the trails along the Truckee River in Verdi, NV. Fall colors were really happening and offered an ideal setting for their session. After doing a little east bound nature walk along the river, Betsy and Dan broke out the fly fishing gear for some fun lifestyle photos. I felt like I was out in the field doing a catalog shoot. The fish weren’t biting but we did catch some great images of them doing their thing. A little side note, on Dan’s first cast, he got his line hung up in the brush. Betsy and I got a nice chuckle out of it and it really set a great relaxed tone for the rest of our session. Really looking forward to photographing their big day next year up in Portola, CA at the Chalet View Lodge.
