Martis Camp Wedding DIY style in Truckee, CA. Located just 20 minutes from the north shore of Lake Tahoe, Truckee is where many people who visit Tahoe vacation and many would like call home. I used to call it home for more than 10 years and it sure is nice to go back there to photograph a wedding. Wendi and Charlie decided to have their day up at one of the newer communities in Truckee at the Martis Camp Lodge. Nestled in Martis Valley, the Martis Camp Lodge is surrounded with panoramic vistas of the Sierras and the wedding venue looks east to Lookout Mountain, Northstar at Tahoe’s designated black diamond ski area. They also decided that a vintage DIY wedding was going to be the theme for their day. Wendi is a crafty and detail oriented girl who tackled pretty much all the decor for their day. Her mother and father are both design professionals and helped out with the invitations and even the little ballon design that was used on their invitations and wood slab centerpiece decorations. Decorations were not just left up to the bride as the groom Charlie used his wire bending skills for the cake topper and also created the birch wood wedding ring box. Simple with some vintage flare, their day was a big success and intimate in every regard. Congratulations Wendi and Charlie!
