The Lode at Tahoe Donner is a great wedding venue in Truckee, CA.  Far from most of the hustle and bustle and chaos that is sometimes prevalent around a majority of the venues around Lake Tahoe, The Lodge offers a great laid back and private feel. Fall weddings at The Lodge surrounded by the large lodge pole pine trees and Golf Digest rated golf course, needs to be experienced . Rachael and Chad lucked out with some gorgeous fall weather.  It was balmy, but since they hail from Alaska, dealing with a little fall chill in the air was absolutely no problem for them.  We found some pockets of sunshine that allowed us to take advantage of the scenery.  We managed to commandeer a couple golf carts and make our way to some popular spots along the course and some of my favorite zones in the area.

Rachael is quite the DIY type of gal and did many of the decorations for their vintage wedding. She hand made all of the signs and wood things like the table number frames as well as the labels for the Alaskan syrup. She made the jewelry the bridesmaids and flower girls were wearing, along with their hair clips and her garter belt. She also painted the thank you, just married signs and the little “Mrs” detail on her dress hanger.  Along with the fantastic staff at The Lodge and other wedding vendors, their day was a big success.  Congratulations Rachael and Chad!
