Wedding at The Chateau at Incline Village NV. Catey and Namir travelled all the way from Alaska to have their wedding up at Tahoe. Their day had a great apple theme and coincided with Catey’s birthday. Yes, their wedding day falls on her birthday so if Namir ever forgets their anniversary, he’s going to be in big trouble! Family came from far and near to attend their day and some could not make it. Fortunately for modern technology, a little FaceTime video chat allowed those who could not attend, a front row Star Trek style experience. As we were about to do their final photo walk, we were graced with the presence of some local brown bears. Not wanting to disturb the mother bear and her cubs, we had to switch gears for a bit while the bears made their way across the golf course. No need to disturb the locals and create a fuss! The bears took off just in time for us to nab a great sunset photo.
Catey’s family owns a home in Incline Village and decided that a Tahoe wedding was in order. Catey comes from respected and honored photographic lineage as she is the grand daughter of an iconic American lensman Flip Schulke. Flip is responsible for documenting some of the most important figures and times of our nations great history. He is celebrated for his iconic images of Elvis Presley, Muhammad Ali, Martin Luther King Jr., Fidel Castro, John F. Kennedy, and the early astronauts of the American space program. He pioneered underwater photography and dived with Jacques Cousteau. I vividly remember his work with Muhammed Ali as those iconic images graced the pages of my photographic text books while in photography school. We have much to thank Flip for and I hope that I have honored his family with the work presented from Catey and Namir’s big day. Congratulations Catey & Namir!
