Previously on my blog I had shared a very personal time in my life as my grandfather was on his way to the other side. His time had come last weekend and our family had a very nice service that honored my grandfather. He was sent off in grand fashion in my hometown of Fresno CA at St John’s Cathedral and Fresno Memorial Gardens. The Army came out to recognize his honored service in WWII as well. Some of these photos will be pretty emotional to my family and I hope that they will stand to honor him and his legacy. I never thought that my camera would be like my security pillow like I had when I was a child. It helped me immensely in dealing with this tough time and I felt that it would honor my grandfather well. The most emotional thing I’ve ever had to do is when I had to deliver his eulogy at the burial, but I’m glad that I was able to coherently gather my thoughts and do him justice by delivering the best I could. We mourned and celebrated his life by recognizing his lifetime of dedication, service and self-sacrifice. Let us let his memory stand as a monument to the exemplary man he was. Here are some pics in memory of my grandfather Asterio Damasco Quitoriano AKA “Daddy” 1919-2015.
