The Corpus family and I had another great session in Central California. Hensley Lake to be exact. Hensley Lake is an Army Corp of Engineers reservoir located north of Madera, California just at the base of the foothill areas before reaching Yosemite. We lucked out with great spring weather as a nice rainstorm arrived to the area just the day before. The rain allowed the grasses to become a lush green that is quite rare in that area. Usually the grasses don’t stay green all that long as once the valley heat gets to it, it turns to the very familiar golden hue. For this session, they wanted to introduce their newly added puppy, “Maui”. Maui is a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog who is already 120 pounds… he’s only a year and a half old! We focused most of our attention to Maui and the boys as this will be their last months in California before relocating to Maryland.
Just a little word of advice for those of you who would like to incorporate your pets into your photo session. Make sure to get them well exercised prior to shooting. Maui took a while to settle into his role and letting him run a bit was quite beneficial.
